Black, Starr and Frost opens Phoenix store
This is the second new location for the historic retailer since it was acquired in 2006 by jeweler Alfredo Molina.
Phoenix--Jeweler Black, Starr & Frost has opened its Phoenix store in the city’s Biltmore Plaza shopping center.
Molina acquired the Black, Starr & Frost brand in 2006 when the historic company, which first was established in 1810 and at one time had more than 30 stores, only had a single location left, in Costa Mesa, Calif.
He since has been focused on expanding the brand, beginning with a Newport Beach, Calif. location--which opened in 2011 when the lease ran out on the Costa Mesa store--and the new Phoenix store, which is 2,000 square feet and offers one-of-a-kind pieces, heirloom jewelry, timepieces, estate jewelry and custom jewelry design and manufacturing.
There also is a VIP concierge, cleaning and inspection services, fine jewelry repair, jewelry appraisals and private appointments.

“The Phoenix and Scottsdale market is a perfect market for classic jewelry, rare jewels, luxury timepieces and finely crafted pieces, and this store is critical to our expansion as we continue to focus on revitalizing the Black, Starr & Frost brand,” Molina said.
