Kering Updates Parental Leave Policy
The new policy gives employees taking paternity or partner leave the same amount of paid time off as those taking maternity leave.

Paris—Kering, the luxury conglomerate behind brands like Gucci and Boucheron, announced an update to its parental policy Tuesday, extending the amount of paid leave given to employees taking paternity or partner leave.
The new policy provides all new parents with a minimum of 14 weeks of leave with full pay.
The policy applies to employees taking maternity, paternity, adoption or partner leave and is applicable during the six months after birth or adoption.
The company previously provided 14 weeks of maternity or adoption leave with full pay, but only five days’ leave with full pay for employees taking paternity or partner leave.
Kering said the policy change is part of its “commitment to equality in the workplace, well-being at work and work-life balance.”
The policy goes into effect Jan.1, 2020 at Kering and its houses.
“This new, practical step forward is designed to provide a better work-life balance and to promote equality among employees, female and male, irrespective of their personal circumstances,” Kering said in a press release.
Chief People Officer Béatrice Lazat said the change not only gives men and women equal time at home, but also supports women in their career and builds a “supportive and inclusive working environment.”
Kering had around 35,000 employees as of 2018.
