Gemesis introduces lab-grown pinks
Lab-grown diamond e-tailer Gemesis is now selling pink diamonds, available in “blush” and “brilliant” shades.
New York--Lab-grown diamond e-tailer Gemesis is now selling pink diamonds, available in “blush” and “brilliant” shades.
The pink diamond collection “boasts high clarity,” Gemesis said, and is available directly to consumers via its website.
Currently available are pink diamond pendants set in 14- and 18-karat white gold, and pink diamond solitaire rings in 14- and 18-karat white gold. The pink diamonds range in size from 0.50 carats to 1.49 carats and in price from $3,250 to $10,000.
“We are so pleased to present consumers with this breathtaking selection of fancy pinks for the very first time. Before now, only the elite have been able to own fancy color diamonds of this quality and beauty; but now, these stunning yet sustainable styles are accessible to mainstream consumers,” said Martin DeRoy, director of marketing at Gemesis.
In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Gemesis also is hosting a pink diamond giveaway on its Facebook page until Tuesday. The Brilliant Pink Angel Halo pendant features a 0.50-carat pink center diamond set in 14-karat white gold and retails for $2,348; the winner will be announced Wednesday.
Gemesis has experimented with growing pink and even blue diamonds in the past although only yellow diamonds currently are offered on its website in addition to colorless and, now, this new selection of pinks.
Earlier this year, Gemesis claimed it had created the world’s largest and whitest lab-grown diamond, a 1.29-carat E color VVS 2 emerald-cut stone they priced at $7,634.
